Corporate History
The corporate history of the Group began in 1996 with the establishment of Severstaltrans ZAO, a transportation company that primarily serviced the transportation needs of the Severstal Group, one of Russia’s largest steel and mining conglomerates.
During the following 12 years ZAO Severstaltrans and companies arising from it achieved a rapid development, based on organic growth and numerous strategic acquisitions.
Today the group includes over 20 companies operating in the transportation/infrastructure industry under the brand name “N-Trans”, including London listed Russia's largest privately owned freight rail operator Globaltrans Investment PLC.
GPI’s port assets, now consolidated under integrated management, constitute one of the key assets of N-Trans.
